Nasty-ness

Tonight Nate and I went to a fireside by the artist James Christensen. It was so awesome to see some of his paintings and hear his perspective on them and why he painted them and what he was thinking when he did. On our way to the bus stop to go to the fireside, we were passing a pile of garbage bags (that's how people put out the garbage here... there are no garbage cans like in the suburbs, just piles of bags and the garbage men actually get out of their trucks and throw them it in the truck) and all of the sudden a huge rat whizzed right past my feet and into the alley way.  I literally almost stepped on it.  Needless to say I totally freaked out. We saw a tiny mouse in central park a couple weeks ago, but this was my first experience with a huge, nasty, disease infested rodent in the city. Eeewww... it gives me the heeby-jeebies just thinking about it!

That is soo creeepy morgs. I would have freaked too. I would have freaked at the mouse to though. I dont want anything like that anywhere near me. The thought makes me want to wear big thick boots up to my knees so it they never touch me.

Hate to tell you girl, but even the nicest restaurants in NYC have rats and/or mice! Just think of it as a way of life...I would be so totally grossed out myself though. Yikes... :)

Gross. Rats and mice really creep me out too. In Tucson, one was in our house for like a week! Every time I tried to go to sleep it would start scraping and squeaking - we did a "mouse hunt" at like midnight.
Anyway, in Vegas they also have the garbage guys get out of the truck - bags just laying in the street makes things look so... trashy!

On the subject of James Christensen, you prbably already know that Gavin married his daughter, and she is an amazing artist too. He is a great guy, salt of the earth type of family, Kinda like your fam.
