Alvin Ailey

On Sunday night, we went with my fam to the 50th Anniversary Alvin Ailey concert in Brooklyn. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The first 2 suites were just ok, but the final piece, "Revelations" {which is a pretty famous piece Alvin did back in the 60s} was AMAZING. There were about 10 numbers that comprised the whole suite, and they were all incredible. It was to gospel music, and the dancing was so beautiful and moving. I think the guy dancers were, overall, better than most of the girls, but there were a few girl dancers that were amazing to watch. I couldn't believe their extensions and their control. I have seen lots of modern dance, but this was definitely the coolest modern piece I have ever seen. I definitely recommend it!  It was a perfect ending to my family's visit!
