Strappin' on my runnin' shoes

Tonight I went on my first run after about a 10 month hiatus. I have been craving to hit the pavement since about my 7th month of pregnancy, and tonight, I was finally able to get all the timing right with the kiddos and head out. It was so great, everything I wanted it to be. I even did way better than I thought I would. I just did a little 2 miler, but I was surprised that I was able to run the whole thing. It was fun to be back on the river trail, and to see all the improvements and changes that people had made in their back yards and to their houses since the last time I was out there. It was also funny to remember things about myself as a runner, like I totally forgot how much I spit when running. I am kind of a chronic spitter anyway (anytime I am around water, doing dishes, washing hands, etc), but it is even more so when running. I think I nailed Whit and Jill a few times during our training, aahh, memories! It feels great to be back out there again, and I can't wait to start getting back in shape!!

oh I am so envious, you have no idea. I have been craving working out lately, just breaking a good sweat and feeling your pulse rise... nothin' better! So next time you're out there, enjoy it for me!!

Way to go!! Running does get addicting, but I have to have a schedule or it doesn't happen consistently. I do love the warmer weather, though. Definitely more applealing to go running outdoors. Let me know if you ever want a running partner - that is in the next few weeks before we're outta here!!

WOW! You are so awesome to dive right back into running so soon. I am totally impressed with 2 miles! Its sad, but I dont think I've ever run 2 miles, unless it was on a treadmill. Way to go! By the way-next time you feel the urge to get out of the house away from the kids, give me a call and I'd be happy to go have a girls night out while our hubbies stay home and watch the little ones :)

Morgs you have inspired me into thinking 2 kids really isn't that bad and you can still get out there and run soon! Way to go girl. I am still amazed how good you look!

Good job! I am impressed you ran 2 miles - I went for a walk this week (pushing the double stroller up a very steep hill I'll have you know) and it just about did me in.
I love the spitting comment - thats classic!

Morgs, stop with the spitting. It grosses me out! Probably as much as my toothbrushing grosses you out, huh? I'm glad you're running again. It is amazing how much better you feel mentally and physically when those endorphins get fired up.

you are highly motivated. I'm just getting started and my son is how old? We'll just say he's still a baby because he can't officially walk yet. I'm very impressed.

woohoo! we'll have to go on a couple runs together next week when i'm there... i have a couple really short taper runs, so nothing more than 3 miles... and i won't even mind if you spit on me. :)
